Data retention policy
What Nulx retains, for how long, and how deletion works. Bracketed fields are placeholders pending legal review.
What we retain
Nulx retains account data (email address, billing contact details), job metadata (file keys, durations, encoding parameters), and operational logs needed to run and secure the service. Nulx never retains customer media, because the media is never received — it stays in the customer's own cloud storage.
Retention periods
- {"Account data": "retained while the account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account closure."}
- {"Job metadata": "retained while the account is active so customers can browse their library history; deleted within 30 days of account closure or a documented deletion request."}
- {"Operational logs": "retained for [log retention period placeholder] for security and debugging purposes."}
- {"Billing records": "retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law, [billing retention period placeholder]."}
Deletion requests
Customers may request deletion of their personal data at any time by emailing [privacy contact placeholder] from the account's registered address. Verified requests are completed within 30 days, and a confirmation is sent when deletion is complete. Deletion of billing records is subject to legal retention obligations.
Media deletion
Because media bytes are stored exclusively in the customer's own cloud account, deleting them is entirely within the customer's control and does not depend on Nulx. Revoking Nulx's IAM access severs the service's connection to the storage immediately.
